What a difference a day makes

Took a ride into town yesterday to see how the cleanup from Superbowl was going and it was like a ghost town. Between the fact that it had rained overnight and the Superbowl was over the people were gone. The barriers were missing, there were places to park.... Seemed strange after all the action of the past week but starting Wednesday Mardi Grais is on big time with parades almost every day leading up to Fat Tuesday. We took a ride up the relatively deserted Bourbon Street and when I passed the web cam I took note of the time so I could look up the surveillance video. Here is the result.

If you would like to see the action live day and night (and the past 24hrs in the archive) check out this website.

or this one
Tropical Isle

We are going to two parades tonight the first:
Mystic Krewe of Druids
and the second
Mystic Krewe of Nyx

If you would like to watch tune in to this web site. Parade Cam the parade kicks off at 6:30 Central time. We are going to park near the beginning and this cam an hour before step off time so we can get home at a reasonable hour.

Have fun and Happy Mardi Gras!!! P.S. No snow in the forcast here 70's.

Later..... Forecast now for rain will see about going to parade.

Skipped the parade and good thing now 8:30 it's pouring. Tomorrow is another we'll try again.
